Frequently asked questions
Why isn't my device showing up?
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both devices.
- Make sure Battery Monitor is installed and has been opened on the device you want to monitor.
- On macOS, check that Bluetooth permission is granted: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Bluetooth → Battery Monitor → Allow.
- Both devices must be signed in to the same iCloud account.
- Try force-closing and reopening the app.
The battery percentage seems outdated
The app updates in real-time when both devices are nearby and Bluetooth is active. If a device has been out of range, the last known value is shown until it reconnects.
Does the widget update automatically?
Yes. The widget refreshes when your device is nearby. Refresh frequency is managed by the system to preserve battery life.
Can I reorder devices in the menu bar?
Yes — on Mac, long-press any device row in the menu bar dropdown to reveal drag handles, then drag to reorder. See the User Guide for details.
Does it work with AirPods?
Not yet. Apple does not currently provide a public API for third-party apps to read AirPods battery levels. We plan to add this once Apple opens it to developers.
Is my data sent to the cloud?
No. All communication happens directly between your devices over Bluetooth. No data is sent to any server. See our Privacy Policy for details.
